Our operations are based on four fundamental principles: respect for nature and
environmental protection, safety, preservation of cultural heritage, and support for the local community.
1. Respect for nature
We conduct all our experiences using muscle power and do not offer experiences that require motor vehicles for transportation. We minimize our carbon footprint and ensure that nature remains pristine for future generations.
We use and rent only high-quality and environmentally friendly equipment. Our choices are sustainable, including the raw materials we use. We prefer locally and nearby produced products.
We adhere to the Finnish Forest Administration's Outdoor Etiquette, which includes respecting nature, sticking to marked trails, camping and making fires only in designated areas, and leaving no trash behind.
We are committed to minimizing waste in all our operations and ensuring that all waste is collected and recycled properly. When moving in nature, we follow the "leave no trace" principle, meaning we leave no signs of our presence in nature.
2. Safety
Our professional guides are experienced wilderness experts trained to consider our customers' safety and act responsibly in various situations. Our guides and staff undergo regular training to maintain up-to-date knowledge of the best practices in the field.
All our equipment is top-notch, well-maintained, and regularly serviced, so you can enjoy your experience with peace of mind.
3. Preservation of Cultural Heritage
We respect local traditions and promote the area's cultural heritage in our experiences and trips. On our trips, you will get to know local stories, traditions, and practices. Telling about nature values is close to our hearts.

Sustainable Travel Finland (STF) is a sustainability certificate granted by Visit Finland, designed to promote sustainable tourism in Finland. The STF certificate provides a concrete development path and goals for a travel company to promote environmental friendliness, social sustainability, and economic sustainability while continuously improving its own sustainability practices.
We are also a member of the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) network. ATTA is a global community of adventure and nature tourism professionals, companies, and organizations that focus on adventure and nature tourism. The organization's goal is to promote sustainable tourism and create safe, ethical, and environmentally friendly practices for the industry.

We do not produce services or experiences on an assembly line; instead, we serve each customer individually, tailoring experiences to suit each customer and group. Wir haben mit Tommi eine Schneeschuhwanderung im Oulanka Nationalpark gemacht. Das war definitiv eines unserer schönsten Urlaubserlebnisse. Tommi war sehr entspannt, hat uns die Tier- und Pflanzenwelt erklärt und unsere vielen Fragen geduldig beantwortet. Wir hatten den Eindruck, dass er sehr viel Freude an seinem Job hat und fanden ihn vom ersten Moment an sympathisch. Wir können ihn bestens empfehlen und würden jederzeit gern wieder eine Tour mit ihm unternehmen. Lieben Dank für diesen schönen Vormittag am 13.03.
This was our first day in Lapland and it couldn’t be better. We had a beautiful off-the-track ski safari in Riisitunturi National park. We are a family with 2 children (12 and 14) and they enjoyed them also very well the whole trip of 5-6 hours. Tommi (today joined with a very kind friend) is very understanding and knows a lot to tell about the area. Thanks a lot Tommi!
We arranged our snow shoeing trip to Oulanka national park easily via WhatsApp. Tommie met us and drove us to the park where he had snow shoes for the whole family. Tommie was very friendly and made the trip very fun for the children. The scenery was beautiful and we loved learning about the local animals and culture. A part way through the walk we stopped by the fire and Tommie made us a hot drink and provided a snack (please let him know in advance if you have any allergies). It was a really relaxing day and the whole family thoroughly enjoyed it.
We came from Dubai and somebody said you have to come to this company and meet tommy so we did that. It was lovely,amazing and absolutely nice with him! Days before he already did a lot for us and was always awake to help with everything. Thanks a lot again !
Today our snow shoeing activity is an unforgettable experience for me and my husband . The guide is gd and very helpful . Will keep this activity as sweet Finland trip memory .. ❤️thx again for being so kind and helpful .
We went on their snow shoe hike for 1.5 hours in deep winter conditions with Tommy & Rika today at oulankanational park. The scenic spots they showed us were fantastic and picture perfect like a Christmas postcard. And their assistance & patience in helping elder guests like us in putting on the shoe shoes and helping us out on steeper slopes were highly appreciated. They also help one of our tour members locate her handphone dropped into a snow pile. Would highly recommend their tour. Keep up the good work guys.
Karhunkierros suoritettu oppaamme Tommin opastuksella. Meillä oli ikimuistoinen vaellus hyvässä seurassa.Väsynyttä matkaaja opas ”luki” hyvin. Taukoja sopivasti ja päivä matkat sopivan pituisia. Kauniit maisemat, ne erityisesti joihin oppaamme opasti. Kaiken kaikkiaan upea matka. Suosittelen lämpimästi.
Tommi from Oulanga Taika provided me an excellent and perfect logistics and support for my entire hike on the Karhunkierros in September 2023. He is friendly and professional on his job. Highly recommended to anyone who want logistics services or guiding on Karhunkierros hiking.
Meloimme Oulankajoeke Mataranniemestä Jäkälänmutkaan, noin 24km syyskuun lopulla. Joen virtaus syksyllä oli reippaampi kuin keskikesällä, joten se antoi hyvin lisävauhtia kajakille. Maisemat matkalla ovat huikeat, ruska loisti kauniisti. Kajakit varusteineen olivat lähtöpaikalla sovitusti ja paluukuljetuksen kutsuimme tekstiviestillä lähestyessämme päätepistettä. Hyvät ajo-ohjeet lähtöpaikalle ja melontaohjeet olimme saneet hyvissä ajoin. Erittäin hyvää ja ystävällistä palvelua, kiitos!
We had a canoeing trip in the beginning of June, just before the season has started and Tommi arranged everything for us on a short notice. I can highly recommend Oulangan Taika’s services and Tommi is a great guide. Paddling in Oulanka is a beautiful experience to get familiar with the surroundings and to discover its amazing landscapes.
Mahtava melontareissu Oulankajoella viikonloppuna. Maisemat mitä parhaimmat ja sääkin helli meitä. Yöpyminen teltoissa, loistava ruokailu nuotion ääressä ja ihanat ystävät takasivat unohtumattoman illan joella. Menossa mukana Oulangan Taika sekä opas Tommi, joka mahdollisti meille onnistuneen reissun. Tämä täytyy kokea uudestaan. Suosittelen kaikille ❤️
Loistavasti järjestetty melontaretki yöpymisineen Oulangan luonnossa. Varusteet laadukkaat ja ruoka herkullista. Tommi-opas oli ammattitaitoinen, sulautui hyvin joukkoomme ja tunnelma oli katossa koko matkan ajan. Lämmin suositus Oulangan Taika -palveluille!
Halusin tarjota vierailleni ennenkokemattoman elämyksen ja sain vinkin käyttää apuna Oulangan Taikaa. Odotukset oli korkealla, mutta silti ne ylitettiin kaikin osin. Melontaa oli kahtena päivänä ja yön vietimme laavulla/teltoissa. Illalliset ja aamupalat oli todella maistuvia. Tämä reissu jäi kaikkien sydämiin! Suuri kiitos osaavalle ja mukautuvalle oppaallemme Tommille!
Reitti oli hieno elämys. Opastus oli selkeä. Taukopaikka oli hyvä. Koiraystävällinen asenne. Lopun veneennosto raju kokemus. Autokyyti toimi hyvin.
Mahtava reissu: upeat maisemat ja sääkin oli mitä parhain. Meloimme Oulankajokea pitkin ja yövyimme teltoissa joenrannassa. Meillä oli opas matkassa mukana, mikä teki reissustamme kaikinpuolin jouhevamman. Arjen kiire katosi reissun aikana ja mieli lepäsi. Matkan varrella pysähdyimme keittämään nokipannukahvia ja syömään eväitä. Illalla meitä hemmoteltiin maukkaalla keitolla. Ehdottomasti haluan kokea uudestaan!

Olimme omatoimisella melonta retkellä Oulanka joella ja olimme erittäin tyytyväisiä onnistuneeseen päivään syyskuun alussa 2023. Saimme hyvät ohjeet ja vinkit ennen lähtöä sekä uusia vinkkejä melonnan jälkeen seuraavaa päivää varten Oulangan muista reiteistä palatessamme sovitulla kuljetuksella takaisin lähtöpaikkaan. Todella hyvä palvelu. Auton siirto järjestyi hyvin Kathunkierroksella ja samalla Sain hyvät vinkit tulevaaan kaamosvaellukseen. Ystävällinen ja luotettava matkanjärjestäjä.
Oulangan Taika tarjosi mielettömän elämyksen meidän porukalle, juuri sovitusti, laatuvarustein ja sopivasti rytmitetty reissu. Ruoka oli loistavaa. Hyvä huumori (tai huumorinsietokyky😅) bonuksena. Vahva suositus.
Oulangan Taika Oy:n perhokalastusviikonloppua viettäneenä, syyskuun alun lempeässä syysilmassa, Kuusamon upeissa maisemissa ja Suomen parhaan kalastusopettajan oppeja saamassa en voi antaa arvosanaksi kuin 6/5!!
Service was beyond excellent! Tommi was kind enough to join me for the first third of Oulanka river trip, as I was alone and kayaking, so the beginning was not too exciting for me. I also got help with the car rides and heard some great tips of the best spots and trails to see and explore. I highly recommend Oulangan Taika!
Homma toimi juuri niin kuin oli sovittu, palvelu oli asiantuntevaa ja ystävällistä.
What an awesome experience- at one point I said “I am the happiest person in the world right now” and I truly believe that. Details: I was on a work trip and Oulangan Taika worked with me on a custom itinerary that allowed for travel to and from Oulu without any rush. My guide was prepared for everything we would need to be comfortable on the river, and worked hard to ensure I got the a truly Finnish experience. The meals were planned and prepared with care using fresh local ingredients, and the food was absolutely delicious. We encountered some rain while out but it only lead to some beautiful rainbows, and a toasty fire, only because Tommi is an expert at campfires. We saw the northern lights in the night, and the campsite was perfect for it. Facing east with no hills or high blockers in the way. I could tell that alot of thought had gone into choosing just the right spot. Honestly, I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Oulangan Taika and if you’re in the area I would highly recommend you let them curate an experience for you.
Ensikertalaisena melomassa Oulankajoella perheen kanssa. Kanootit ja tarpeelliset tykötarpeet järjesteli Oulangan Taika. Erinomainen ja joustava palvelu, hyvät vinkit ja neuvot kokemattomille melojille. Päiväretken onnistumisen avaimet oli helppo löytää, suosittelen!
Kiitos todella upeasta melontaretkestä. Kokemus oli todella hieno ja loistava palvelu. Saimme lisäksi uusia vinkkejä lähialueelta eli vahva suositus melonnasta ja palvelusta Oulangan Taika Oy lle Tulemme uudelleen vielä joskus ja mahdollisesti yön yli retkeilyn jossakin taukopaikoista.

Kajakin vuokraus onnistui helposti ja omiin aikatauluihin sopien. Oli mukava, kun asiakkaan etua ja reissun onnistumista oli ajateltu.
We had the canoe guided tour with Tommy. Great view, great atmosphere, and great guide.
Mesmerizing river ride with stunning scenery and overnight stay. Professional and safe. Tommy was available at all times.
We rented gear for the paddling journey from Mataraniemi to Jäkälämutka. The route was beautiful and very easy to paddle with a double kayak and packrafts, even easier than we anticipated. The company also arranged the rental of a packraft from another service provider and delivered it to the starting point, which saved us a lot of time. A member of the staff, Tommi, was extremely helpful, friendly and service-oriented. He also responded to emails really quickly. A small complaint we have was that the paddle for the packraft did not have drip guards and therefore, a lot of water got into the raft. A splash skirt would have been necessary. Additionally, the back rests of the kayak were not too comfortable and were bolted in a certain position so that it was not possible to adjust them, causing a bit of pain. Overall, we had a great experience and will without a doubt use Oulangan Taika if we ever shall return.
