Our operations are based on four fundamental principles: respect for nature and

1. Respect for nature
We conduct all our experiences using muscle power and do not offer experiences that require motor vehicles for transportation. We minimize our carbon footprint and ensure that nature remains pristine for future generations.
We use and rent only high-quality and environmentally friendly equipment. Our choices are sustainable, including the raw materials we use. We prefer locally and nearby produced products.
We adhere to the Finnish Forest Administration's Outdoor Etiquette, which includes respecting nature, sticking to marked trails, camping and making fires only in designated areas, and leaving no trash behind.
We are committed to minimizing waste in all our operations and ensuring that all waste is collected and recycled properly. When moving in nature, we follow the "leave no trace" principle, meaning we leave no signs of our presence in nature.
2. Safety
Our professional guides are experienced wilderness experts trained to consider our customers' safety and act responsibly in various situations. Our guides and staff undergo regular training to maintain up-to-date knowledge of the best practices in the field.
All our equipment is top-notch, well-maintained, and regularly serviced, so you can enjoy your experience with peace of mind.
3. Preservation of Cultural Heritage
We respect local traditions and promote the area's cultural heritage in our experiences and trips. On our trips, you will get to know local stories, traditions, and practices. Telling about nature values is close to our hearts.

We are also a member of the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) network. ATTA is a global community of adventure and nature tourism professionals, companies, and organizations that focus on adventure and nature tourism. We had a wonderful time with Mikael! A very unique and beautiful experience. We felt like we were in a winter wonderland. The fire pit and lunch was generous and Mikael prepared and assisted us with everything on the tour. Highly recommend!

Kaamosvaellus 29.1.2024-2.1.2025. Oulangan Taika ja Satu. Omalla vaelluskokemuksellani, niin kotimaassa kuin ulkomaillakin, voin koko sydämmestäni sanoa, että luonnon avustamana(whiteout ja revontulet) tämä vaellus oli yksi kokemusrikkaimmista vaelluksistani. Järjestelyt, alkupriiffaus, vastaanotto ennen vaellusta oli hienosti hoidettu. Oppaan ammattitaitoinen ote vaelluksen aikana alusta loppuun sekä rentoina hetkinä, että haasteiden keskellä antoi referenssitasoisen kuvan ja muiston siitä vastuullisuudesta jonka osaava opas ottaa. Ikimuistoinen kokemus ja annan erittäin vahvan suosituksen!!
Salir a pescar el último día de nuestra estancia en Kuusamo fue un gran acierto. Tommi nos enseñó, a 30 grados bajo cero, las bondades de esta experiencia, de la que los peques también disfrutaron. Quedará en nuestros corazones ese ratito de hoguera al aire libre en buena compañía y chocolate caliente, abrigados con pieles de reno.

Oulanka river experience can be absolutely amazing even in the end of the autumn season. The misty landscape in October was magic and the reliable guidance by Mikael from Oulangan Taika made a great impression on us - as well as the lunch and dinner service. Unforgettable!

Satu on ihan 10+ opas joka suhteessa. On tietoa ja taitoa ja lisäksi hän on super avulias ja empaattinen. Kyllä on helppoa vaan nauttia matkasta. Kaikki oli etukäteen hyvin suunniteltu, mutta kuitenkin niin, että oli mahdollisuus joustaa tauoissa ja kulkemisessa säiden ja fiiliksen mukaan. Iloinen ja sympaattinen apuopas Anna täydensi koko Kilpisjärven ruskareissun.
Kävimme Oulangan alaosan melonnan neljän naisen ryhmänä syyskuun alussa. Aikaisempaa kokemusta melonnasta ei juurikaan ollut. Päivä oli lämmin ja aurinkoinen. Järjestelyt olivat erittäin onnistuneet: nuotiopaikalla tarjoiltu lounas oli erinomainen ja illaksi järjestetty sanonta ja iltapala kruunasivat hienon päivän. Erityiskiitokset paikallisista herkuista kootun seitsemän kalan iltapalan tarjoamisesta tunnelmallisella rantasaunalla. Päivä oli ikimuistoinen. Suosittelen Tommin ja Oulangan Taian palveluita kaikille.
Ikimuistoinen Hetta-Pallas -vaellus syksyisessä Lapin luonnossa: Tuntureiden hengästyttävistä korkeuksista avautuvaa kauneutta silmänkantamattomiin, kuruissa laiduntavia poroja, tarinointia iltanuotiolla ja upeat revontulet yötaivaalla.
Hetta-Pallas vaellus Oulangan Taikan mukana oli upea kokemus! Kaikki sujui paremmin kuin hyvin - vaellus oli hyvin suunniteltu ja me aloittelevat vaeltajatkin saimme apua ja hyviä vinkkejä jo ennen vaellusta sekä läpi koko vaelluksen. Suosittelen lämpimästi!
Aivan huikea reissu ja hyvin suunniteltu päivät. Luotettava opas mukana kaikilla oli turvallinen olo vaelluksen aikana ja sen jälkeenkin. Tulen kyllä käyttämään jatkossakin kyseisen yrityksen palveluita.

Oli mukava retki, kanootit ja kuivasäkit toimi hyvin ongelmitta. Yhteydenpito oli erittäin sujuvaa. Kao Kuusamon matkailu- ja ravitsemusalan opiskelijat tykkäsivät yritys esittelystä ja kiittää kaikesta.
Teimme elokuun alussa kanoottiretken Oulangan Taian kanssa, ja mikä elämys se olikaan! Henkilökunta oli osavaa ja avuliasta. Maisemat ovat henkeäsalpaavan kauniita – meloimme suoraan postikorttiin! Suuret kiitokset Oulangan Taialle upeasta kokemuksesta. Vahva suositus!
Täysi kymppi palveluista: enemmän kuin asiakkaina osasimme odottaa. Myös alueen tuntemus ja Tommin taito kertoa Oulangan historiasta ja haasteista yllättivät myönteisesti. Telttasauna odotti melojia sytyttämistä vaille valmiina:)
Super descente en canoé. Nous avons été un peu rapide (5 heures de descentes).Il faut prendre son temps et profité de l'environnement. Tommi nous a bien conseillé et le timing était parfait. Je recommande +++
Rented gear (last minute) for a canoe trip on the oulanka river. Very responsive and flexible, accommodating our need for an earlier start and finish. Equipment was well maintained and Tommi was friendly and helpful throughout. Recommend.
We did the lower part of Oulankajoki with a kayak and it was really nice. There were multiple places to stop and eat, and the route itself is also very beginner friendly. The booking was quick and simple. We met Tommi at the starting point and then he was waiting for us at the pickup point even a bit early. Overall very satisfied, I can highly recommend Oulangan Taika!
I rented hiking gear. I never thought that, as a woman, I’d go hiking and camping by myself but thanks to Tommi’s explanations, encouragement and the gear I rented I had the most amazing time! The trails around here are so well organised, I felt very safe throughout. The tent, sleeping bag, camping stove, mat, pillow, hiking pole etc etc were all really high quality and easy to use, even for a novice hiker (after watching the YouTube videos that Tommi sent me). I did bring my own backpack and water filter but even those would have been included in the gear rental if I’d wanted them. I’d encourage anyone to use this company’s services, really wonderful people.

We had a superb kayaking trip along the Oulanka river. Thanks to Tommi and his team, it was a smooth ride from the beginning to the end. And the views along the way, you don't want to miss those! We even spotted a brave reindeer crossing the stream and a few sunbathing on the sandy banks.
When prospecting for a combination of wildlife and outdoor activities, I went looking for a local company specialized in canoe trips. The recommendation of Oulangataika as the best local operator by an employee in the information center of Kuusamo turned out to be completely correct. Their service was stand in, very friendly, flexible and professional. We each had a solid canoe, all had a dry bag at our disposal, received a thorough explanation at departure and also at the end the timing was perfect because one of the two owners arrived with his trailer and minibus just before we moored at the end point. And the trip itself? It is breathtakingly beautiful and no problem at all for people without experience! Highly recommended! Jan Kelchtermans - Belgium

Oltiin heinäkuussa mestoilla. Kaunis reitti! Kaikki pelasi loistavasti. Lähtö, nouto, varusteet, yms.! Myös teini-ikäiset pojat viihtyivät!
Hyvä välineet, ammattitaitoiset ja niin mukavat oppaat joustavalla kuljetuksella. Rauhassa sai meloa ilman stressiä paluuajasta. Iso suositus! ❤️
Oulankajoen melonta yöpyen reitillä oli kyllä kokemisen arvoinen reissu. Reissun palvelut olivat toimivat ja kanootti plus pakettiin muut kuuluvat välineet olivat huippuluokkaa. Tätä palvelua on ollut ilo käyttää jo useamman kerran.
Kolmen yön taktiikalla Oulankajoella. Omatoimiretkeen sisältyi 18 km patikointi, 28 km melonta ja 25 km sähköpyöräily. Loistavasti onnistunut retki telttamajoituksella. Selkeät ohjeet ja kartat. Kiitos Oulangan Taika välinevuokrauksista ja kuljetuksista. Kaikki hoitui sovitusti ja täsmällisesti. Tämä on koettava uudestaan. Suosittelen kaikille!
Retkeiltiin perheen kanssa Oulankajoen alaosalla kahdella kanootilla ja yhdellä sup-laudalla. Yhteensä 25km sisältäen eväitä, uimista, kiipeilyä hiekkatörmillä, eläimiä, luontoa ja tietenkin upea joki ilman ötököitä ja rauhallinen virta edistämään matkaa. Oli kyllä retki, mitä muistellaan vielä kiikkustuolissa. 🤩 Meitä aluksi jännitti lähteä kulkemaan jokea pitkin kun se oli meille aivan uutta. Oulangan Taika teki retken kuitenkin helpoksi asiantuntevalla opastuksella ja ensiluokkaisella palvelulla. Tuhannet kiitokset teille! Tästä tuli yksi kesän kohokohta!
