This guided hike takes to the most beautiful places in Salla National Park as well as on the most famous hiking route – Karhunkierros – in Finland.
We start this hike from Salla Ski resort and hike through the Salla National Park to UKK route. We will UKK route to Hautajärvi where we switch to Karhunkierros hiking trail.
The hike duration is 7 days (6 nights) so you will be enjoying full week of enchanting nature wonders.
Schedule for the hike is 11.8 – 17.8.2023
You can only pay the reservation fee (€70) when booking the hike. After confirming the reservation, you will receive an invoice by e-mail, which is due 30 days before the start of the hike.
There are two pricing options:
Standard package (including hiking gear) – 599 €
Light – only guided hike (no gear included) – 495 €
You can ask about specific gear for a rent by submitting a question via the contact form.
Group size is 4 – 8 people. The hike will be organized if there will be minimum number of participants (4). In case that hike is cancelled, all payments will be refunded.

You should bring:
– Appropriate clothing
– Good and used hiking shoes
– Personal items – list will be provided with the comprehensive preparation package)
– Hike meals and snack for the hike
– Camera or phone to store the memories during the hike
We have also an light option available, which means that you will just join the hike with your own gear. Light version does not include hiking gear

Route description
We start this hike from Salla Ski resort and hike through the Salla National Park to UKK route. We will UKK route to Hautajärvi where we switch to Karhunkierros hiking trail.
Day 1
We will hike from Salla Ski Resort to Aikkipetsi day hut. The length of the day hike is around 15 kilometers.
Day 2
We will hike from Aikkipetsi day hut to Tervalammit goahti. The length of the day hike is around 19 kilometers.
Day 3
We will hike from Tervalammit goahti to Vasajoki lean-to and fireplace. The length of the day hike is around 24 kilometers.
Day 4
We will hike from Vasaoja to Merenoja lean-to and fireplace. The length of the day hike is around 19 kilometers.
Day 5
We will hike from Merenoja to Ylikota lean-to and fireplace. The length of the day hike is around 17 kilometers.
Day 6
We will hike from Ylikota to Porontimajoki hut. The length of the day hike is around 18 kilometers
Day 7
We will hike from Porontimajoki to Ruka. The length of the day hike is around 16 kilometers.
